I have prayed on many occasions that God would continue to allow First Baptist to be a sending church. That He would raise up workers for the fields of harvest in the world. That He would raise up missionaries, church planters, pastors, full time vocational ministers. That He would call out from among us those who will impact the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every week for the past 4 weeks we have had people come forward, dedicating their lives to vocational ministry calling. This past Sunday, it was Olivia. Olivia went to CrossTimbers with our children’s ministry in July. While there, she began to sense the Lord’s distinct calling to take the Gospel to Korea. This past Sunday she submitted to that calling by making it known to her church family. Now we as a church have the responsibility of praying for, discipling, providing for, and helping Olivia to fulfill that calling. In the years ahead we are called to support her and encourage her in every way in her calling! I pray God continues to raise up children, youth, and adults for the calling He has for their lives. I pray we never measure our success simply in terms of people gathering together at FBC, but in terms of discipleship, spiritual growth, and sending out. God is at work among us!
First Baptist Church exists to Gather together in Jesus, to Grow as His disciples, and to Go, sharing His gospel with others. This Sunday we will meet Together as we do every week. Do not grow weary in meeting, but may it be a time of encouragement, growth, and ministry in your life. If you need help finding a small group, a place to serve, or a way to connect, please reach out to me. We would love to help you! This Sunday Night we will have our Quarterly Family Business Meeting. This will be an important time of seeing how God is at work in many ways at our church. Please come and be a part of this important meeting!
