mediapic1.jpgThis all volunteer ministry allows God's Word to reach a multitude of people who cannot attend church in person each week. Hospitals, nursing homes and retirement complexes are just a few examples of the outreach opportunities provided by FBTM's television broadcast. The ministry has a wide variety of viewers ranging from shut-ins at home to the not-yet-saved looking for answers to life's questions.

Working in a television studio can be a lot of fun. There are many different areas to volunteer your much needed help.  It take three camera operators, a video director, an audio engineer and a control room assistant to create each live broadcast.  During special events many more people are needed to complete the television crew.  The First Baptist Church hosts a large Christmas pageant, several musicals and plays and other video projects each year. In addition to yearly events, the crew captures church related news events for inclusion in weekly services. In total there are unlimited ways and opportunities for service to the Lord through electronic and multimedia at FBTM. A willingness to serve and an interest in television production is all it takes to be a part of the crew. Full training is provided, and learning is easy and fun.

At the heart of the broadcast facility is the Main Control Room. Video from remote camera locations throughout the auditorium and studio is mixed and switched by the Program Director to create each live broadcast.

Video tape recorders, video enhancement electronics, and support equipment fill the racks in this central nerve center.  Video monitors throughout the room provide feedback for camera positioning, camera selection and picture quality control during the live broadcast.

mediapic2.jpgAlso located in the main control room is the Audio Mixing Console. Audio from a multitude of microphones and other audio sources is mixed and switched by the Audio Engineer to create the sound for each live broadcast in this area. At first glance the audio mixing console appears extremely complicated due to its many knobs and  buttons.  Most of these controls are pre-set and the actual operation is not difficult. Help us spread the Word of God by volunteering a few hours each week.  It's fun, it's interesting and it's a unique way to serve the Lord.

For more information feel free to stop by the studio any Sunday before service time.  We are located at the top of the stairs along the west side of the auditorium.   Or you can e-mail us at:  fbap@tulsaconnect.com
